You know how sometimes things just sort of happen once you've been putting a wee bit of thought into them (Law Of Attraction - more on that another day), well I've been moaning a bit to myself (and anyone who will listen really) about how I need some motivation to get fit again and do more running.
Okay I know I started the running again with the New Year after my 'foot break', but I have to admit girls, I've been less than keen and any excuse whatsoever (weather - always a good one round these parts, something/anything else to do - gym shoes being stolen by elves - the usual stuff really) will keep me from donning the trainers and hitting the lane.
Well a few weeks ago I got an email from Scottish TV to say that they were thinking of putting together a team of the experts from The Hour programme to run in the Great Scottish Run (10k) in September. Did I want to take part?
Yes I did, at last something to motivate me to actually get back into the running properly. Well this was a few weeks ago and of course I didn't really scamper out the front door raring to go. Hmmm that is until last Friday when I got the call to say that we are all meeting up TODAY for our first training session with Stella the lovely but scarily fit (and looks horribly good in lycra) fitness instructor.
So today is the day. Best foot forward and all that. Shall report back if I make it through the session.

Good Luck...there's nothing like a bit of motivation!

Sounds like fun! My best motivation to hit the lane and eat salad are my clothes that seem to be shrinking in the wardrobe closet.

You go girl! Motivation is always the best thing, and I have to admit, I lost mine last fall. I was doing so good on the treadmill, but then I thought I was not seeing results fast enough. Stupid reason to stop exercising! I wish you good luck with your training, and it has given me the attitude that I need to get back on the treadmill. Keep us posted how you are doing.
