Sorry this is just one of my winter wonderland photos. It should be one of a heart bursting with pride.
Last night l went to the 'Ayrshire Schools for ~Christmas' concert at The Palace Theatre in Kilmarnock. The place was packed and it was wonderful to see the massed choirs on the stage (children had been chosen from each school to sing in their own choirs and then one huge choir assembled). The kids had been practicing for months but had only come together for one practice on the day of the concert.
I sat next to my friend Naomi and must admit we didn't expect the entertainment and joy that was produced from the stage. Those kids were amazing, and there was my Idgy in there singing her heart out and loving it. If only my fingers could type out the sheer joy and pride that l felt when l heard them. It was one of those ever so rare fireworks and chocolates moments, a fabulously wrapped package just bursting forth with fun and happiness. Those children sang so well, you would be forgiven for thinking that they must have practiced together for months to get all their harmonies and different parts and levels correct, amazingly they did it in one afternoon.
What a night.

Sounds absolutely fantastic. I can sense the pride in your words and it is wonderful to read.
A huge well done to Idgy.
Our children give us so much to be proud of and it is these moments that can lift us and make everything else worthwhile. The atmosphere in the hall must have been so amazing!!

How lovely Karon. You enjoy that feeling and well done Idgy. By the way, meant to say before that I had only heard the name Idgy in one of my favourite films, Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistlestop Cafe'. Such a lovely name xx

Well done to Idgy, and the other children, they take such pride in perfoming in front of their parents, and of course the parents burst with pride as well.
Keep hold of that warm and fuzzy feeling, with the weather forecast it will help you no-end.
Kx
